 In the compendium of music published in 1827 by Juan Ignacio Iztueta and Pedro Albéniz, there is a piece registered as brokel-dantza. In it appears the zortziko, but not the score of the steps. According to Ignacio Ansorena, the steps of the brokel-makilena appear in the scores of the txistulari of the early 20th century Eusebio Basurko, but not the melody of the zortziko.
