This is  the dance that is normally performedfirst when the complete cycle of the brokel-dantza is being performed. Juan Ignacio Iztueta calls it the “Boastitcea edo paseoa”. Similar to  a bow, it seems to be a dance for greeting the public. During this dance the dancers (dantzaris) who line up in two rows behind their leader, move a short distance forward and then backward in the square where the cycle is being danced. Firstly they move forwards and then afterwards they return.

The leader of the group holds the baton of authority. The rest of the dancers dance  holding nothing in their hands. In the 20th century, the dance has also been performed  by women, in this case they normally carry a white handkerchief in their hands.
