Ehun eta bikoa

         Dance explication

As in all the ancient melodies, the dantzari chooses the steps to perform the ehun eta bikoa. Apart from the rules set out in the chapter dedicated to the old melodies, the structure of each old melody has to be taken into account for the choreographic composition.

This is what Juan Ignacio Iztueta says about this old melody:

“The ehun da bikoa has three parts and 64 points: the first two parts are played twice each and the third only once and consists of 26 points. A total of 102 points, which explains its name, has to danced as follows:
The first part has 26 points and the dantzari has to take 4, 2, 4, 6, 6, 4
The second part has 12 points and the dantzari has to take 6, 6
The third part has 26 points and the dantzari has to take/perform…4, 2, 4, 6, 6, 4
This part is only played once”
