This uztai handiena (dance of the long arches) is based on the one that José Lorenzo Pujana in Añorga and whose melodies Isidro Ansorena transcribed into staff notation. As José Ignacio Ansorena explained, Isidro Ansorena considered that some steps of the second phases of the well-known agurra (greeting) should be introduced into the start of the dance so that the dantzaris had time to get ready to perform the call.

As the dance consists of two parts, the music consists of two melodies: the first is a contradanza and the second a zortziko.
