The leaps can be either vertically and straight up or they can also be while turning. In such cases, the dantzari jumps upwards and performs a full turn on his own axis. The turns can to be to the right or to the left and the dantzari can perform half leaps, full leaps or added leaps while he is turning in the air.

Depending on which foot is in front and depending on whether the leaps are performed to the right or to the left and on whether they are half leaps, full leaps or added leaps, there are various possible ways of performing the leaps while turning. Thus, four leaps while turning can be accomplished with each type of leap while performing half leaps, full leaps or added leaps.

In the same way that the leaps can be performed while jumping straight up into the air, they can also be carried out by turning the body in the air to both sides. It is therefore extremely recommendable, as I have already pointed out, to learn [to perform them] in both ways, as the dancer who only knows how to do them in one way shall not be able to correctly perform the full leaps while turning.

In order to do the full leap while turning to the right and to the left, [the dantzari] shall perform the turn while first of all hitting the outer maleolous of the right ankle against the mid left shinbone, as I explained earlier, and then the outer maleolous of the left ankle against the mid left shinbone.

In order to do the full leap while turning to the right and to the left, [the dantzari] shall perform the turn while first of all hitting the outer maleolous of the left ankle against the mid right shinbone and then the outer maleolous of the right ankle against the mid left shinbone.
