The double gallop consists of two gallops that are successively performed at the same time as a single gallop.  The two gallops have to be performed to the right and therefore once the first gallop is completed, the dantzari has to be in the initial position in order to be able to set off on the second gallop also to the right. Therefore, it is very important to perform the first gallop to correctly cross the legs and, finally, instead of place the right leg in front of the left, place it behind the left heel, in other words, in the initial position. The dancer then immediately performs a demi-plié and the second gallop sets off to the right, although the right heel is now placed in the left instep and this ends the double gallop.

The double gallop can be performed either towards the right and towards the left.
