The  added gallop are described in Iztueta’s texts, but they not been passed down to us. We have therefore opted to perform the added gallop described by Iztueta. A gallop and a leap have to be danced in the time that a gallop is performed. The gallop-leap combination is not very usual in the dance models that have been passed down to us. In this case, it is a gallop with leap, in other words, the leap has to be performed before the gallop is completed.  Iztueta says that half leaps have to be performed, but taking into account the doubts arising regarding those types of leaps, we propose to perform full leaps.
Added gallop to the right Added gallop to the left

Therefore, the dance starts with a gallop to the right and, at the moment when the feet are crossed, keeping the left foot crossed in front of the right foot, the dancer jumps up and performs a full leap, coming down to land on the floor with the right foot in front, ready to start a gallop to the left, or any other step. This is the added gallop to the right that we propose, and the same would be performed to the left to dance the added gallop to the left.

The added gallops are performed as follows:

In order to perform the added gallop, [the dantzari] has to first of all perform the single gallop, as I have already explained, and then add a half leap, such as the ones I have demonstrated above. These half leaps have to be performed when adding the gallop to the right, and the left foot is first placed above and the right below, and then the right foot above and the left below on the floor, in the manner that I have explained. But when adding the gallop to the left, [the dantzari] has to first of all place the right foot over and the left under, and then the left foot over and the right under on the floor.
