Juan Ignacio Iztueta recorded the melody for the
jorrai-dantza in the melody book that was published in 1826. However, according to José Ignacio Ansorena, the melody that Azkue noted down in Motriko a century later bore certain similarities to the melody jotted down by Iztueta. Both contained several musical phases that were lost in the version preserved by tradition and passed down to us.
