         Soka-dantza

Bullet1 The greater soka-dantza is danced in Eibar on June 24th, St. John's Day. The town’s mayor and councillors dance with the dantzaris and the dance is performed in Unzaga square. Characteristics and steps typical of the dances of Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia can be seen in the Eibar soka-dantza. Between 12 and 16 dantzaris make up the dance procession.

Bullet1 This Eibar soka-dantza is usually danced in various neighbourhoods of the town throughout the year. It is danced in the Azitain neighbourhood in January, during the San Antón festivities, and on the Sunday following Santa Cruz Feast Day in the chapel of the same name in May.

         THE ARRATE Ezpata-dantza
Bullet1 The feast day of Our Lady of Arrate is held on September 8th. The ezpata-dantza is danced during the high mass held at Arrate Shrine and a procession then takes place. On the first Sunday following the day of Arrate, the day of the Arrate Brotherhood is celebrated, when the ezpata-dantza is again performed in Arrate Church.
